The Office of Professional Standards

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies’ (CALEA) Standard 26.2.5 requires an annual statistical summary of internal affairs investigations.  CALEA also requires that an annual statistical summary be provided to department employees.  In 2019, the Office of Professional Standards investigated twenty total cases.  Of the twenty cases, eleven were externally generated (citizen complaints) and nine were internally generated.  Two internal involved civilian employees.  Eleven citizen and seven internal involved a classified (sworn) member.
