Crime mapping is used by analysts at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to map, visualize, and analyze crime incident patterns. Mapping crime, using computer software known as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), allows our crime analysts to identify crime hot spots, along with other trends and patterns.

The Sheriff believes that a better-informed citizenry is vital in helping to do the job of policing. Our goal is to provide citizens with valuable data that will allow them to assist Law Enforcement in reducing crime.
