Job Description

In general, Deputy Sheriffs performs field and office duties as uniformed or non-uniformed officers. These duties may include:

  • Cruiser Patrol
  • Serving Mentally Ill Warrants
  • Appearing As Court Witnesses
  • Supervising Civilian Employees
  • Investigating Violations of Law
  • Apprehending Law Violators
  • Investigating Accidents and Rendering Aid to the Public
  • Conducting Sheriff Sales as Required by Law
  • Making Reports
  • Booking and Guarding Prisoners
  • Collecting Delinquent Taxes
  • Gathering and Preserving Evidence
  • Carrying Out Eviction Procedures
  • Replevin of Property
  • Serving Civil Papers
  • Providing Courtroom Security
