|Drive Sober Labor Day 2012|
On various dates during August and through Labor Day weekend 2012, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) was involved in the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Selective DUI Enforcement in a coordinated effort to decrease the number of alcohol impaired drivers on the roadways. The Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS) provided grant funding for overtime for this selective enforcement.
The DCSO compiled the following statistics during the enforcement operations:
Our enforcement goal used saturated patrol to contact suspected intoxicated drivers, who were arrested and taken off the street; thus creating safer streets for the citizens of Douglas County.
