|2011 Cox Classic Traffic / Parking Enforcement|
During the 2011 Cox Classic golf tournament, held at Champions Run Country Club, 13800 Eagle Run Drive, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) will conduct selective traffic / parking enforcement operations. Our goal with this selective enforcement is to reduce speeding, prevent drunk drivers, and to diminish the number of parking complaints in the Eagle Run West and Grayhawk neighborhoods. Parking is restricted in both neighborhoods. In Eagle Run West, people attending the event should expect to find the closure of Eagle Run Drive between 132nd and 144th Street, and 135th Street from Eagle Run Drive to Miami Street. Event staff will control access to these areas. The public is strongly encouraged to take one of the available shuttles to Champions Run.
Violators of the posted no parking areas in the Eagle Run West and Grayhawk neighborhoods will be cited and their vehicles may be towed. Previous years’ statistics show a downward trend in the number of complaints, citations issued, and the number of vehicles towed. The DCSO wants this downward trend to continue. The selective enforcement is funded through grant funds provided by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS). NOHS is providing up to $7,200.00 in overtime funds for this event.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone:
